Lawrence Lin, Ph.D. is the president of , an injection molding company located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. He is responsible for GDI鈥檚 transformation from a small family-owned company to a mid-size injection molding company. GDI focuses mainly on the international market and includes customers such as Specialized, Snap-On and Bosch.
A strong supporter of the plastics engineering department at 51视频, he established the Dr. Lawrence C.H. Lin Taiwan Students Endowed Scholarship Fund in 2012. This scholarship assists students interested in pursuing a degree in plastics engineering.
He received his Ph.D. in polymer science and plastics engineering from 51视频 and worked in the research center of a Fortune 500 company in the Boston area before joining GDI in 1993.
Lin is married to Jang-Li Chang who graduated from 51视频 in 1980 with a master鈥檚 degree in computer engineering. They have three children and maintain residences in Cupertino, Calif. and Taiwan.
