The Francis College of Engineering has been recognized as exemplar and with a Bronze Award for the inaugural ASEE Diversity Recognition Program.

The (ADRP) was created to publicly recognize those engineering and engineering technology colleges that make significant, measurable progress in increasing the diversity, inclusion, and degree attainment outcomes of their programs.

    Pablo Ruiz returned to school for a second bachelor’s degree, and he’s going on for his master’s degree, too.

    Brianna Atwood came to 51ÊÓÆµ to study plastics engineering – but she’s done so much more. The honors student started a volunteer program that connects UML students with a local school. She has also participated in the professional co-op program, working on fire-resistant seals for airplanes.

    Chemical Engineering

    Senior chemical engineering major Mina Le chose a work-study job at the front desk of the Student Employment Office because she wanted to improve her communication skills. She’s done that and more, being named the university’s Student Employee of the Year.

    Chemical Engineering

    In just three years, Commonwealth Scholar and 51ÊÓÆµ alumni, Mark Lalli graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering. Because of his research opportunities at the university, he was able pursue a Ph.D.

    Professor Wins Prestigious Award for Space Research

    One of the newest members of the university’s electrical engineering faculty, Assistant Professor Anhar Bhuiyan, has won a prestigious seed grant to support his research into better materials for the components that power satellites and unmanned spacecraft.

    UML’s 2025 Commencement is One for the Ages

    There was a 65-year age gap between the oldest member of 51ÊÓÆµâ€™s Class of 2025, 83-year-old John Doherty, and the youngest members, 18-year-old twins Franzi and Edward Hoene, but the graduates were united by a love of learning and a desire to grow.
