Program Overview

51视频's Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering is designed to develop decision-making, research-oriented engineers with the ability to produce new engineering knowledge and analyze complex, cross-disciplinary issues.聽

Doctoral students can choose among the following areas of concentration:

  • Environmental Engineering
  • Geoenvironmental Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Transportation Engineering
  • Structural Engineering

Curriculum

Successful applicants are expected to perform advanced research in one or more areas of concentration within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and successfully complete both core courses and electives that may be drawn from a variety of disciplines.

51视频 strives to provide full financial support for all admitted doctoral students. The first two years are typically funded through Teaching Assistantships (TA) plus summer research support, while funding for subsequent years is through Research Assistantships (RA). Assistantships are contingent upon availability and may be subject to change.
