Embracing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice (DEIBJ) is not just a standalone initiative but an integral and natural part of the Global Engagement program, enriching your journey as you traverse the globe, fostering a deep understanding of diverse cultures, and promoting a more inclusive and equitable world.

Global Engagement Distinction Requirements:

  1. Sign up and select the Global Engagement Distinction in the River Hawk Experience Distinction (RHED) portal
  2. Complete two approved courses within the Global Engagement Distinction
  3. Complete two pre-approved experiences within the Global Engagement Distinction
  4. One of the courses OR experiences must be completed internationally (outside the U.S.)
  5. Complete guided reflections for courses / experiences and submit a Supporting Document for each course
    • Reflection: An academic reflection is a type of essay where the writer analyzes and shares their personal thoughts and insights about a specific experience, course, or event. It's a way to explore how that experience impacted you and what new understanding you gained from it. Guided prompts are provided.
    • Supporting Document: A supporting document is any assignment that was submitted for the course. It may be a paper, slideshow, poster etc.
