The Department of Psychology at 51ÊÓÆµ offers two graduate certificates:

Economic & Social Development of Regions

The certificate offers graduate level instruction to students interested in understanding, analyzing, and intervening to enhance the economic and social development of regions. It provides students with a strong grounding in the conceptual tools and the information needed to participate effectively in the development of neighborhoods, states, or nations.


Required Courses:

Peace & Conflict Resolution Studies

The certificate offers graduate level instruction to students interested in understanding and helping to resolve conflict at a variety of levels, from the neighborhood to the globe.  It includes analysis of varieties of conflict, and theory and practice of peacemaking and conflict resolution.

Required Field Experience course
57.558 – Practicum in Peace and Conflict Studies
(In this course, students do practical work with an organization based in one of a variety of fields, e.g. human rights, mediation, etc.)
