- Development of sustainable funding/technology ties with industry, local, and federal agencies, consistent with CMINDS and the 51ÊÓÆµ missions.
- Performing and promoting basic and applied research in key areas in Computer Engineering mentioned above, and facilitating Technology Transfer to industry in key strategic technical areas supported by CMINDS.
- Support innovative curriculum development by incorporating the research aspects supported by CMINDS into the Computer Engineering curriculum in order to:
(a) facilitate research/research training(b) continually  improve the evolving and fast changing Computer Engineering program(c) to attract quality undergraduate and graduate students, andÂ(d) support a strong new doctoral program in Computer Engineering at 51ÊÓÆµ. Â
- Active support and involvement of undergraduate and graduate students in CMINDS.
