Family Hawk Talk

Disability Services at 51ÊÓÆµ: Developing Self-Advocacy and Passing the Baton from Parent / Guardian to the Student

Join staff from 51ÊÓÆµ (UML) Disability Services to learn more about the office and the registration and accommodations process. This session will also discuss how the accommodations process in college differs from what students and families may have experienced in the Kindergarten to 12th grade (K-12) system. Staff will also give tips and recommendations for supporting your student as they transition to 51ÊÓÆµ. Hosted on Zoom.

This is a great opportunity to learn how we partner with families to support a positive college experience.

Join us for the Student Community Expectations and Safety – Parent and Family Session, a virtual program designed to inform parents and families about the university's community standards, safety protocols, and resources that support student well-being. Learn how we foster a respectful, inclusive, and secure campus environment—and how you can support your student’s success and safety.

Campus Living 101

Campus Living 101, Parent & Family Session is a virtual program designed to introduce families to the essentials of residential life. Learn about day-to-day life in the residence halls, opportunities available to students, and what to expect as your student adjusts to living on campus. Residence Life staff will also share how they create an engaging, educational environment that supports student growth beyond the classroom—helping students get involved, build community, and make the most of their on-campus experience.
