Cultural Studies is a concentration within the degree. This interdisciplinary program provides an understanding of the humanities, such as literature, history, music history, art history, philosophy and language. It demonstrates the interrelations, interaction and influences of the humanities on one another as well as the significant impact of their diversity. Cultural Studies provides students with an understanding of cultural diversity within the United States and how it is affected by its global context.
The requirements of the Bachelor of Liberal Arts program and the Cultural Studies concentration are flexible. Students can focus their Cultural Studies program around particular area of interest in the humanities. The Cultural Studies concentration is one of two 24-30 credit concentrations the student takes for the Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree.
General Requirements: Cultural Studies Concentration I (24 - 30 credits)
At least 12 credits must be earned at or above the 300 level.
