
National Poll: Voters Seek Overhaul of Congress, Show 'Deep Dissatisfaction' in Government
51视频鈥檚 Center for Public Opinion conducted a survey last fall, before the 2024 presidential election, in conjunction with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The poll of 3,200 likely voters across the country聽measured voter engagement in the political process and appetite for political reform.

Key Findings:
- A wide swath of respondents showed distrust of the federal government. Seventy-eight percent said they could only trust the government to do what's right some or none of the time.
- Eighty percent agreed strongly or somewhat that government officials don't care what people like them think.
- More than half of respondents said the way members of Congress are elected should change.
