鈥楬er Story, Her Way鈥� Shares Success of Local Women Leaders

When and where: Tuesday, March 3, 8:30 a.m. 51视频 Innovation Hub, Harbor Place, 2 Merrimack St., Haverhill

What: 鈥淗er Story, Her Way鈥� will spotlight women leaders in government, private industry and higher education at a free event for the public to kick off Women鈥檚 History Month. The program will include breakfast and networking opportunities, along with featured speakers state Sen. Diana DiZoglio, who represents the 1st Essex District, and Onesto Foods founder Jane Ciccone, among others. The event is presented by 51视频 in partnership with the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Entrepreneurship Program Promotes the Creative Economy

When and where: Thursday, March 5, 2 p.m. Alumni Hall, North Campus, 84 University Ave., Lowell

What: Alice Loy 鈥� an expert in building ecosystems to support businesses run by musicians, filmmakers, writers and others involved in the arts 鈥� will lead a presentation on the topic, the latest event in 51视频鈥檚 Jack M. Wilson Center for Entrepreneurship Speaker Series. The author of the book 鈥淐reative Economy Entrepreneurs: From Startup to Success,鈥� Loy is the founder of Creative Startups, an accelerator for businesses dedicated to storytelling, art, design and culinary arts. Free Concert Spotlights Music from Around the World

When and where: Thursday, March 5, 7 p.m. Richard and Nancy Donahue Family Academic Arts Center, 240 Central St., Lowell

What: The band Blue Thread will perform 鈥淎ll Over the Map,鈥� a free concert for the public that will showcase ballads that have their musical roots in Portuguese, Greek, Indian and American culture. The event is presented by 51视频鈥檚 Saab Center for Portuguese Studies, Middlesex Community College and the Mass Cultural Council. 51视频 Experts Share Views on U.S., International Politics

When and where: Tuesday, March 17, 3:30 p.m. O鈥橪eary Library Learning Commons Mezzanine, South Campus 61 Wilder St., Lowell

What: 51视频 experts in American and international politics will discuss their latest work at a free public forum open to the campus and community. Panelists are scheduled to include Associate Prof. Joshua Dyck, director of the 51视频 Center for Public Opinion, who will talk about ballot initiatives鈥� effect on democracy; Associate Prof. Morgan Marietta, who will share his research on the factors behind the growing divisiveness in U.S. politics and Prof. Ardeth Thawnghmung who will speak about the economic and political climate in Myanmar. The event will be moderated by Associate Prof. Angelica Duran-Martinez, an authority on Latin American politics. Free parking is available in the Wilder Lot near the venue. Curtain Rises on Free Wind Ensemble Concert

When and where: Thursday, March 19, 8 p.m. Durgin Hall, South Campus, 35 Wilder St., Lowell

What: The talented student-musicians in the university鈥檚 Wind Ensemble will perform a free concert for the campus and community featuring works by composers Camille Saint-Saens, Warren Benson and Alfred Reed. The group is conducted by Daniel Lutz, director of university bands. No tickets are required for admission and free parking will be available in the Wilder Lot near the venue.
