Sciences Dean Takes Part in NASA鈥檚 Mars 2020 Mission
NASA recently launched its most sophisticated Mars rover, Perseverance. On board, it is carrying SuperCam, which will use a powerful laser to conduct experiments on the surface of Mars. Noureddine Melikechi, dean of 51视频鈥檚 Kennedy College of Sciences and a professor in the Department of Physics and Applied Physics, is among the researchers serving as a member of the science team for SuperCam.
Grant Will Shine Light on Portuguese-American Experience
Students, faculty and researchers interested in the rich cultural and historical tapestry of Portuguese-Americans in the Merrimack Valley and beyond will soon have access to a digital archive chronicling generations of immigrants, thanks to a $300,000 grant to 51视频鈥檚 Saab Center for Portuguese Studies. The archive will be known as the Greater Boston Portuguese-American Digital Archive (PADA).
