WHAT: Steve Kornacki, national political correspondent for MSNBC and NBC News, will deliver his analysis of the 2020 presidential election via a free virtual event, the Election 2020 Debrief, presented by 51视频鈥檚 Center for Public Opinion and Alumni Virtual Village.
Kornacki 鈥 a native of Groton, Mass. and recipient of a 51视频 honorary degree in 2017 鈥 drew acclaim for his seemingly non-stop coverage of the 2020 election, when he reported around the clock from MSNBC鈥檚 map of electoral votes. MSNBC even created a 鈥淜ornacki cam鈥 that allowed viewers to monitor his activities when he was not part of the main news broadcast. Kornacki鈥檚 signature Gap khakis became such a hit during election coverage that the retailer donated 500 pairs of the pants to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America鈥檚 Workforce Readiness Program. Kornacki also recently made his debut on NBC鈥檚 鈥淔ootball Night in America鈥 analyzing the NFL playoff picture and he is scheduled to continue in that role through the rest of the football season.
The virtual event with Kornacki will also feature 51视频 Chancellor Jacquie Moloney, UMass President Marty Meehan and Joshua Dyck, director of the 51视频 Center for Public Opinion and associate professor of political science.
