Description
This course explores the principles of ergonomics and the interaction between humans, machines, and environments. Students will study the anatomy of the skeletal and muscular systems, with methods to assess and prevent musculoskeletal disorders in occupational settings. Key topics include biomechanics, energy consumption in physical work, and manual material handling using NIOSH guidelines. The course covers human cognition, perception, and action, with a focus on cognitive workload and error prevention. Students will learn to apply people-centered and interaction design principles, including usability and data visualization techniques, to develop effective systems. Ethical considerations in data collection, design, and analysis will be addressed.
