        Description
        This is an introduction to manufacturing processes, including a fundamental review of properties of metals, polymers, ceramics and composites. Processes including metal casting, forming, and shaping,including rolling, forging, extrusion, drawing, sheet metal forming, powder metallurgy, are reviewed. Fundamental machining processes are reviewed and advanced machining processes are introduced. Additive processes and joining processes, for polymers and metals, are introduced.
        
            Prerequisites
            MECH.2020 Manufacturing Laboratory, and MECH.2960 Materials Science for Engineers.
