BIOL.6070 Applied Biology II

Description

This is the second course in a two-semester sequence of curses that will introduce students to the range of research topics being addressed at 51视频 as well as to professional applications of Biology. Applied Biology is at the forefront of scientific research and technological development and underpins a number of growing industries. This course will provide an opportunity for students to learn about key areas in Applied Biology including Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Evolution, and Healthcare. To achieve these objectives this course will be divided into three topic blocks (4-5 weeks each) where a faculty member will provide a didactic overview of that topic, and will then bring in quest lecturers who will use half the class time.

Course prerequisites/corequisites are determined by the faculty and approved by the curriculum committees. Students are required to fulfill these requirements prior to enrollment. For courses offered through online or GPS delivery, students are responsible for confirming with the instructor or department that all enrollment requirements have been satisfied before registering.
